I’m Melissa, the resident blogger for the Emerson Austin team. This is the first time that our company has participated with Genzyme and New England Controls in Running for Rare Diseases. Our team is made up of 11 runners (well 10 from Austin and 1 from Minnesota).  So how did I get nominated for this role? Well I have a food blog that I manage as well as one of the company newsletters. Guess it was a natural fit!
The team is very excited about this opportunity and already have several fundraising events planned.  These events include a homebrew tasting where several Austin Emerson employees are bringing their own brews, a spring festival with food and hopefully a dunk tank and a 24 hour treadmill-athon where we’re hoping to get some of the other Austin runners in the company to help cover the hours. The team is made up of engineers, sales, contracts and management. With such a diverse team, over the weeks we’ll introduce you to the different members and their reasoning for being involved. By getting to know them, their stories and the races they’re running, we hope to feel like family by race day. Though I think the Austin team has the better training weather right now!
Thanks for sharing, happy we’ve gotten to ‘meet’ and be teamed – Go TEAM MPS, Melissa, Molly and Myself!
