Rare Disease Day 2/29/12

Genzyme will be hosting a very special event on Rare Disease Day: the Rare Disease Day Relay. The Rare Disease Day Relay is an Olympic torch style run. Groups of Genzyme employees will run between four Genzyme locations in Massachusetts, passing the torch to the next group of runners when they have completed their leg. Each site is organizing a fun event coordinated with the runners’ arrival. While every site will put its own personal touches on its event, all the events have some activities in common, including:

  • Speakers: Gaucher patient Stacey Feuer and Mary Dunkle from the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)
  • Bake sale:  All donations will be given to NORD.
  • Raffle: Prizes include Expression of Hope posters, gift certificates to restaurants near your site, and a Kindle.
  • Opportunities to connect with the rare disease community and with your colleagues through celebrating Rare Disease Day 2012
  • Welcoming the relay runners and/or sending them off in style!

“Alone we are rare; together we are strong.”
